Our Work
“Be so good they can’t ignore you”
- Steve Martin
We develop campaigns with our clients to ensure they stand out and will never be ignored!
Rewild Things,
Treehouse Launch
We have worked with Elmore Court in Gloucestershire ever since the estate first opened its doors to the public as an event venue in 2013. Three years into a nature recovery programme we were tasked to raise the awareness of the rewilding activities, as well as launch six luxury treehouses located at the heart of the estate and to drive bookings.
Widespread coverage was secured in both local and national titles, print and online, including features on BBC Points West News and BBC Radio Gloucestershire, a full page feature in The Times hailing the accommodation as a ‘fairy-tale UK hideaway’, Metro newspaper, Country Life, Cotswold Life, Sheerluxe and many more. That’s as well as helping to build their social channels by working with content creators, including Visit Britain who featured a reel from a review stay on their Instagram channel viewed over 90,000 times.
Visit Herefordshire,
Relaunching this under-discovered UK county
We devised a series of memorable trails to help this under-the-radar UK corner stand out, highlighting different ways in which to explore the county’s hidden gems.
From exploring the lazy lanes of the county by bike, bus or car using the centenary celebrations of the discovery of Ley Lines, to creating themes such as Roast and Rambles walking routes and Cider Circuit food and drink trails, we captured the attention of the media and gave them a myriad of reasons to come and visit. The resulting media included almost every national newspaper travel section running in depth features on Herefordshire, as well as frequent broadcast features on BBC West Midlands, BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester, Conde Nast Traveller, Wanderlust magazine and many more, all adding to the buzz.
Keeping the Icehotel in the news
We’ve been very lucky to promote the incredible designs of the Icehotel in Swedish Lapland on behalf of travel specialist, Discover the World, for over ten years. From working with digital influencers such as @paperboyo who used his highly creative paper cut out designs to transform images of the hotel and its environment into something extraordinary,
to crafting unique wellbeing retreats incorporating sauna, ice plunges and even dreaming up the concept of ice running, we have managed to keep this hotel, in the news.
We also worked with the Telegraph on a major competition, which saw one of their readers design their very own ice suite, as well as setting up partnerships with brands, including Anthropologie and the Biscuiteers, to keep alive the focus on their truly unique hotel.
Wye Valley gem,
Hudnalls Hideout
When you have an experienced travel marketing consultant as your client launching a new luxury glamping business, you know you need to be on your best game! Opening Hudnalls Hideout in the Wye Valley was the culmination of a long-term dream for Sarah Orchard and her husband Adrian. It was also a dream PR launch in the sense that this A frame cabin is outstanding in every way.
The challenge was the timing. We had built up so much media attention that when we finally launched it turned out to be four weeks before the start of the pandemic. We had to work very smartly in and out of lockdowns to ensure we maximised the attention and the media who we had managed to host. Creating a year-long waiting list for availability, coverage was widespread including the likes of The Sunday Times, Red, Stylist, Grazia, Metro, Lonely Planet, House and Gardens and BA High Life. We worked with MADE.com interiors to give us even more reach outside the traditional travel and lifestyle media.
Shifting Arctic seasons, Design Hotel Levi
Finnish Lapland is best known for its snow, santa and aurora over winter seasons. However, following our PR launch for a new boutique hotel in Levi, we were tasked with encouraging more out of season stays in the autumn time.
Ruska in Finland is the term for ‘fall foliage’, the short Arctic autumn season and is a total delight when the September days are equal parts day and night, with the added bonus of being the start of the aurora season. Cycling, hiking, tree hugging, and floating saunas all added up to the perfect way to tell the story of travelling to Lapland for the new ‘Ruska’ package at the hotel that really grabbed the attention of the media as well as digital content creators who experienced the magical colours.
Cwtch up for Carmarthenshire
Our brief for Carmarthenshire was to make off season touring tempting and encourage people to consider visiting during the depths of the winter. By tapping into the popularity of the Scandinavian ‘hygge’ and comparing this concept that had already rocketed in popularity to the authentic Welsh ‘cwtch’,
which is best described as an embrace or cubbyhole, we married together the very best experiences and places to visit evoking that sense of cosiness. From sipping steaming hot bowls of cawl, shopping for vintage Welsh blankets or snuggling up for stargazing under dark skies, we created ideas that showed how wintering well is the best way to take you through to the warmer days and caught the imagination of the national media time and time again.
Crisis Support when you most need it
The very nature of our work in this area means that we can’t share the detail. However, we continue to be sought out to work for many different travel and hospitality companies when they most need it, helping them navigate the trickiest times avoiding the media spotlight.
Experience is everything in this field and Fiona has been involved in handling the press relations for clients involved in major travel incidents, customer relations catastrophes, natural disasters, as well those sadly impacted by criminal behaviour. We act as a wise sounding board. One who is not directly involved who can step back and help you manage your reputation whilst encouraging a caring and thoughtful approach to both internal and external audiences. It is possible to do both.
